The Westhill Army JROTC Viking Battalion was established in September 1995. The instructors at the time were CW3 (R) Dave Boggio and SSG (R) Latham.  Since then the battalion has grown from a handful of cadets to 160+ strong. In the year 1996, the Army Instructors were replaced by the current SAI and AI, Major William Weber and Sergeant Major Lance Finick, respectively.
